Then pay a visit to the Haarlemmermeer forest and the Toolenburger lake. The Toolenburger lake is a recreational area of more than 85 hectares to the south of Hoofddorp, adjacent to the residential area of Toolenburg and Floriande. The recreation area has a large lake surrounded by beaches, hiking trails and forest.

Hoofddorp is located south of Amsterdam, Schiphol and Haarlem and north of Leiden. The surrounding cities can be reached quickly and easily via the N201 road, the A4 and A5 and by train. The beach is about 20 minutes by car. The Zuid-Kennemerland National Park and the seaside resorts of Noordwijk, Zandvoort and Bloemendaal are all reachable within 30 minutes by car.
